How to get to Osaka Castle
Six stations surround Osaka Castle Park. Pick the one that matches the gate you want: Tanimachi 4-chome for the classic walk in through Otemon Gate, Osakajokoen or Osaka Business Park for the north side and Osaka-jo Hall.
From every station, the Main Tower is about 15 to 20 minutes on foot.

From the main areas of Osaka
From Namba
Osaka Metro Midosuji Line to Hommachi, then the Chuo Line one stop to Tanimachi 4-chome. About 15 minutes on the train.
From Dotonbori and Shinsaibashi
Walk to Shinsaibashi or Nagahoribashi Station and take the Nagahori Tsurumi-ryokuchi Line. It runs straight to Morinomiya and Osaka Business Park with no change.
From Umeda and Osaka Station
JR Osaka Loop Line to Osakajokoen, or the Osaka Metro Tanimachi Line from Higashi-Umeda to Tanimachi 4-chome or Temmabashi.
From Shin-Osaka (Shinkansen)
Osaka Metro Midosuji Line to Hommachi, then the Chuo Line to Tanimachi 4-chome. Or JR to Osaka Station and the Loop Line to Osakajokoen.
From Kansai Airport
JR Kansai Airport Rapid Service to Tennoji or Kyobashi, then the Osaka Loop Line to Morinomiya or Osakajokoen. Or Nankai to Namba and the Metro as above.

By boat
The Aqua-Liner water bus stops at Osakajo pier, on the north side of the park near Osaka Business Park. A loop cruise takes about 40 minutes and departs from the castle between about 10:00 and 16:00. Aqua-Liner official site
By car
Cars can't enter the grounds. The Osaka-jo Park Station lot (171 spaces) and the Morinomiya lot (143 spaces) are open 8:00 to 22:00, about 400 yen an hour on weekdays and 500 yen on weekends.

What is the nearest station to Osaka Castle?
Tanimachi 4-chome (Osaka Metro Tanimachi and Chuo lines) is the usual choice and leads to Otemon Gate. JR Osakajokoen, Morinomiya and Osaka Business Park are also close. From any of them the Main Tower is about 15 to 20 minutes on foot.
How do I get from Namba or Dotonbori to Osaka Castle?
From Namba, take the Midosuji Line to Hommachi and change to the Chuo Line for Tanimachi 4-chome. From Shinsaibashi or Nagahoribashi, near Dotonbori, the Nagahori Tsurumi-ryokuchi Line runs straight to Morinomiya or Osaka Business Park with no change.
How do I get from Shin-Osaka to Osaka Castle?
Take the Midosuji Line to Hommachi and change to the Chuo Line for Tanimachi 4-chome, or take JR to Osaka Station and change to the Osaka Loop Line for Osakajokoen.
Is there parking at Osaka Castle?
Yes. The Osaka-jo Park Station lot has 171 spaces and the Morinomiya lot 143, open 8:00 to 22:00. Cars cannot drive into the castle grounds.
