The two places to eat are JO-TERRACE OSAKA, by Osakajokoen Station, and MIRAIZA OSAKA-JO, right next to the Main Tower.
JO-TERRACE OSAKA
A low row of cafés and restaurants next to JR Osakajokoen Station, on the east side of the park. It opened in 2017 and has about 17 shops. It is the best place for a proper meal before or after the castle. See it on the map

MIRAIZA OSAKA-JO
The stone building with the clock-tower look, just south of the Main Tower. It was built in 1931 as an army headquarters and is now a small complex with food and shops. The building is open 9:00 to 22:00, but each shop has its own hours. See it on the map

- Kaiyodo Figure Museum in the basement, if you have time to spare.
Halal and Muslim-friendly food
We could not find a halal-certified restaurant at JO-TERRACE OSAKA or MIRAIZA OSAKA-JO.
